How it teaches

The vocabulary isn’t bolted onto the game — it is the game. Academy staff send you deciphering requests, and each one is a real SAT word shown inside a sentence. Get it right and you earn coins that unlock the next chapter of the story, so studying and progressing are the same action.

Words in context

Every word arrives in a sentence from the world, which is how meaning actually sticks — far better than a definition in isolation.

Missed words come back

Get one wrong and it quietly returns a few questions later. Spaced repetition, without a study schedule to manage.

The story

Professor Tas studies Ancient Language Theory — a discipline the Academy considers a dead end, and which has never won him a research grant. Your ability to read the old script changes that. Across 18 chapters you help him stabilise a failing preservation spell, prove that a portal can carry heat between two crystal balls, and build the case for the funding that might finally send you home. Along the way you meet Archivist Holt, Nell the shopkeeper, Rowan of the Herbology department, a sceptical rival named Loric, and a cat called Nox.
